What is Big Picture?

116 Pall Mall

Through IoD Policy we exert our influence in a number of different ways:

  • By taking a position in the media (both nationally and locally)
  • Through direct discussion with local Ministers
  • Through detailed discussions with civil servants
  • Through written responses to consultation documents
  • Through production of research and policy papers

The IoD concentrates on the issues which are of most concern to business, examining them in depth and drawing substantially on membership experience.

IoD Policy engages with members in a variety of ways, from national surveys and events, to regularly asking the Chairmen to ascertain the local opinion on selected topics. We are always interested to hear the views and experience of individual members and encourage those with an interest in the work of the Policy team to join Policy Voice.

Surveys

Our policy positions are developed through regular consultation with members. GfK NOP surveys are conducted quarterly and we also carry out policy questionnaires. Join Policy Voice to be alerted when these are taking place. The data collected form an integral part of the Policy Unit’s responses to Government consultation documents and feed directly into policy papers.
