Phil Jones

After working for many years in the design and digital industries, Phil Jones set up his own company, Real Time Consultancy. Now six years on, Phil is based in London but works with international clients across the country. He also acts as a creative consultant, mentoring owners of businesses in the creative sector. His clients include award-winning agencies such as branding agency Navyblue, Graphics specialists McKenzie Clark and digital agencies Clock and Naked Penguin Boy.

I have been a member of the IoD for 7 years. When I first started my business, I went to the IoD for impartial and independent advice on what my duties would be as a non-executive director, how to charge out my services, and how to insure against unforeseen problems. The free information I received from the advisory team when I was starting up my business gave me a lot of insight at a time when I was inexperienced and in need of advice, and the best bit is, it is all included in the cost of the membership.

The IoD also provides me with a great place to meet and entertain clients. I particularly like the Restaurant - the quality of the menu provided by the Chef and his team is excellent. I have also used the function rooms at 116 as a venue for major events that I have organized, including Soccerex Forum and Sports Podge, and the IoD has always delivered brilliantly. It is a great venue with great people, I have always enjoyed the way the staff treat me and my guests.
